The Need for Regulation in AI’s Rapid Adoption

In an interview with journalist Ann Wason Moore, Dr. Kelvin Ross, Founder and Chairman of KJR, discussed the rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence and its transformative potential for addressing society’s challenges.

From traffic management, monitoring sharks on beaches, crime prevention and security, bushfire monitoring to AI-enabled medical innovation, the opportunities for AI inclusion are wide-reaching and significant.

Despite the promise of AI, Dr. Ross emphasises the need for proactive regulation and a thoughtful approach to AI adoption to ensure both innovation and public safety.

Certainly we don’t want regulations that stifle innovation, but we also want to ensure that we have guardrails for our own safety, that’s how we can really drive growth.
