Avalon Airshow provides exhilarating backdrop for NGA AIR6500 partner briefing

Innovation News

NGA partnership

Set by the exhilarating backdrop of Australia’s finest and most innovative aircraft at the Avalon Airshow on Wednesday 1st March 2023, Northrup Grumman Australia hosted their AIR6500 partner briefing. KJR was invited to attend as a project partner alongside a group of equally impressive organisations supporting NGA through the competitive process.

KJR is delighted to be supporting Northrop Grumman Australia’s AIR6500 team to deliver advantage to the ADF. We have been partnering throughout the competitive process and look forward to working together into the future.

AIR6500

AIR6500 is currently progressing through a risk reduction program with the Australian Government as part of the procurement that will culminate in the purchase of a modern next-generation Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS).

Northrop Grumman (NGA) is in a Competitive Evaluation Process to be selected as the program’s strategic delivery partner and has introduced trusted partners to deliver a range of technical expertise.

KJR has been embedded into NGA’s prototype team as Quality Focused Software Engineers, assisting NGA with the setup of the AIR6500 prototype to demonstrate the NGA’s JABMS capability.

KJR at the Avalon Airshow

KJR attended the Avalon Airshow from 28th February – March 5th in support of the Australian Military Drone Racing team at the Military International Drone Racing Tournament 2023.  Trackside and in between qualifying races the pilots filed in and out of our KJR corner for interviews, while on track they zoomed through the track leaving nothing but dust in their wind- and on occasion a KJR sign (the coolest way to lose a banner ever!).

This was an exciting opportunity for KJR as it uncovered a firsthand preview of the innovative drone models for use in the defence sector and feeds into the work we are helping to deliver with NGA and on the community-focused data capture projects in Far North Queensland.
