From Slopes to Software: How Euan Currie’s Ski Cross Journey Reflects KJR’s Core Values

Innovation News Training

At KJR, we champion the thinkers, the doers, and the trailblazers—people who thrive in high-performance environments and use technology, teamwork, and tenacity to push the limits. Our partnership with rising Canadian Ski Cross athlete Euan Currie is a testament to how these values transcend industries, inspiring excellence on snow as much as in software.

Euan recently placed 8th in the final of the 2025 Ski Cross FIS Junior World Championships in France, 7th in the mixed/combined ski cross, and secured a spot on next season’s World Cup circuit. His sights are now set on making the NextGen Canadian team.

In a recent conversation, Euan gave us a glimpse into what powers his performance—and how his world aligns with ours.

Teamwork That Powers Performance

“In Ski Cross, everyone has a role. From techs waxing skis to coaches filming every run, it’s all about collaboration. I might be the one on the hill, but the team gets me to the finish line,” Euan explains.

It’s a mindset that aligns closely with how KJR operates. Just as a racing team’s synchronicity drives results, our collaborative delivery model ensures client success through shared expertise and trust.

Innovation at High Speed

“Innovation means staying ahead,” says Euan. “If I find a faster line or new technique, it can give me a critical edge—but only briefly. Others catch on quickly. You have to keep evolving.”

In KJR’s world, innovation is constant. Whether it’s delivering cutting-edge AI governance or deploying drone-enabled data platforms in remote environments, our teams push boundaries to stay ahead of the curve.

Tech that Builds Performance

Euan’s training is steeped in data. “We film everything, then analyse frame-by-frame. It shows me exactly where to improve,” he says. “Even gaming helps sharpen my reflexes.”

At KJR, we also use data, automation, and AI to help clients build smarter, faster, and more resilient digital environments.

The Power of Routine and Structure

Euan’s daily grind mirrors KJR’s delivery discipline. “Every day starts early—hill training, gym work, recovery. It’s structured and repeatable. That’s how you get better. Same as in tech—you build quality through process.”

We couldn’t agree more. Discipline isn’t restrictive—it’s what unlocks performance.

Overcoming Adversity with Resilience

Setbacks have shaped Euan’s story. “A couple of years ago, I got really sick – lost 15 pounds in two weeks. But my family helped me stay focused, and once I was back on my feet, I was more motivated than ever. That experience taught me that resilience isn’t optional—it’s part of the job,” he says.

At KJR, we know high-pressure environments well. Whether it’s mission-critical Defence platforms or fast-paced digital transformations, resilience is baked into everything we do.

Redefining Excellence

“To me, excellence isn’t about being perfect,” Euan says. “If I finish a day stronger than I started—more confident, fewer mistakes, better decisions—that’s excellence. It’s about pushing the needle, even just a little, every time.”

That’s a definition we live by. From testing environments to talent development, we’re focused on growing a little stronger, every day.

KJR is proud to support Euan as he races into the future in one of the world’s toughest winter sports —fuelled by the same values that guide us every day.
