We are excited to announce that our Cultural Tech Tours are back in 2022!
Operated in partnership with Johnny Murison and Jarramali Rock Art Tours, KJR will continue to gather diverse individuals on Quinkan country to explore technological solutions to cultural, ecological and community preservation, as well as culture share enabled by virtual tourism.
There are four tours set for schedule in 2022, with dates and expression of interests to be announced in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes peeled here and on our socials (LinkedIn and Twitter) for updates.
In case you missed it our first Cultural Techo Tour was held in Oct-Nov last year- see what the group got up to here. Where they collected a data set of drone footage and photography that will help map the Jarramali Rock Art Sites using Geographic Information System (GIS) which can be used to inform solutions to land preservation, navigation and rock art preservation.
Take a peak at this footage in all its glory in the video below. As well as hear from KJR Chairman Dr Kelvin Ross, Dr Catherine Ball, Word of Drones Education and Traditional Owner David Hudson, on how this project aims to utilise innovative technology to empower and support Indigenous communities across several operations.
