Taking Pause, because the risk is real

With the real-world application of artificial intelligence (AI) increasing, potential AI bias is causing a cool panic in tech circles. How will gender imbalance and diversity impact machine learning?

That’s the question KJR’s CEO, Ashley Howden is taking to a carefully curated panel at Melbourne’s Pause Fest in February 2019.

So, who’s lining up to answer?

Karolyn Gainfort, repping KJR on the panel, is one of our principal consultants. She’s also a mentor for the Young Women Leaders in AI program that recently launched with federal government funding.

Alyse Sue, not just an AI and Blockchain developer at Hut34. She’s also a freelance writer covering emerging tech and transhumanism, start-up founder and ex-KPMG.

Cody Middlebrook, Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at AI Health and across the nation at AI Australia, the man knows his stuff.

The risk is real: Uncovering ethics and bias in artificial intelligence is the name of the panel. You can catch it at Pause Fest on Wednesday 6th February at 12.40pm on stage at the NGV theatre. Tickets to the festival are available here.

Pause Fest is in its ninth year and stronger than ever. This year the program is three days long and offers six stages of continuous content with speakers from around the globe including from Google, Amazon, YouTube, NBC, NASA and Airbnb.
