KJR joins the ACS AI Ethics Committee
We’re thrilled to announce that KJR’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr Mark Pedersen, has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the ACS (Australian Computer Society) Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee.
Mark contributes more than 25 years of experience in the ICT sector and considerable knowledge in Responsible AI Implementation. Holding a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence with a focus on language technology, he played a pivotal role in the development of KJR’s VDML methodology, aimed at aiding organisations in the implementation of quality, safe and reliable AI applications.
ACS Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee
The ACS Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee assesses Australia’s current capabilities in AI and provides advice on future directions. They also develop resources and methodologies, thought leadership, commentary and advice to the ACS on AI principles including:
• AI Implementation: Practical guidance and resources for the design and deployment of ethical AI system and services, applying Fairness Explainable, Accountable and Transparent (F.E.A.T.) principles
• AI Impact on Australia’s Economy and Workforce: What does task automation mean for the future workforce and future of work?
• Sustainability: What are the considerations/impacts for the development of AI technologies for a sustainable environment?
• Work Ethics: Ensuring that there is culture and diversity of voice perspectives in consideration of the range of issues.
• AI Trust and Education: Considerations for the building of trust about the use of AI and avoiding adverse impact on privacy, autonomy and human dignity.
