On Friday 13th November KJR’s General Manager ACT, Andrew Hammond, participated in TourX Oz, a cycling event dedicated to raising funds for the Black Dog Institute with the message ‘exercise your mood’.
Launched in 2013, TourX Oz has raised over $1.3 million for the organisation, with this year’s event so far raising over $36,000, as well as awareness for the valuable work of the Black Dog Institute.
KJR is proud to support this event, and with 1 in 5 of us experiencing symptoms of mental illness in any given year, fundraisers like TourX Oz provide much-needed funds to support vital, ongoing research into mental health.
This year saw the first one-day ride in the event’s history due to COVID, with riders travelling in and around Wollombi, Laguna and Broke in NSW’s Hunter Valley. Andrew took part in his first ride back in 2013 alongside KJR’s Founder and Chairman Kelvin Ross, and this year he was one of over 70 cyclists who took part in either a road or gravel track ride.
Congratulations to Andrew, and to all the participants this year for their valuable contribution to life-saving research.
