KJR’s Journey with Sustainability

Report
Our Commitment to SDGs

In recent years, KJR has been involved in various AI and drone initiatives, working alongside Indigenous enterprises, educational institutions, and ranger groups across Queensland and the Torres Strait.

• We’ve been dedicated to training local communities in drones and digital skills. We recently launched an RPAS STEM engagement program in partnership with the Indigenous-owned and operated Radiant Life School in Innisfail.

• In collaboration with SaltyMonkeys, we utilise drone mapping technologies to clean Aussie beaches of plastic debris.

• KJR is also the major founding sponsor of the Indigenous Australian Datathon, which aims to create social and environmental impact projects using data and technology.

• We developed with FlyFreely the DJI Drone Dock Trailer, a project enhancing technical capabilities for landmanagement in remote Australian locations.

Community Benefits

Via these projects, Indigenous communities are empowered with marketable drone and digital skills, enabling them to develop business opportunities and independently monitor and manage their land, sea, and cultural heritage.

KJR brings its expertise in softwaretesting, artificialintelligence, machinelearning, edge computing, network integration, software configuration & customisation, and qualityassurance to ensure the seamless integration of the various technology components and processes.

Aaron Bell, KJR Remote Data Technologies General Manager, says

Technology holds the promise to bridge gaps, empower communities, and drive positive change. When we use it to address pressing issues and improve lives, we not only unlock potential but also shape a brighter, more inclusive future for all Australians

Through these initiatives, KJR supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), Goal 13 (Climate Action), Goal 14 (Life Below Water) and Goal 15 (Life on Land).

KJR’s social impact program has sought to provide positive social outcomes for the Indigenous communities in Australia.
